Eura Mobil Profile: Mercedes Sprinter as an alternative

With a development time of just four months, Eura Mobil presented the first prototypes of the Eura Mobil Profila based on the Mercedes Sprinter. The new model recently celebrated its official introduction with an online press conference. The Eura Mobil Profila with the Mercedes Sprinter as the base vehicle belongs to the popular seven-meter segment. The driving license B weight of this newcomer also remains within the limits of the 3500 kilo regulations.

Necessary transfer

Four years ago, Hymergroep made the choice to develop a front-wheel drive Sprinter, especially for campers, in collaboration with Mercedes. From that moment on, the goal was to set a new standard for campers that Eura Mobil, part of the Trigano group, now benefits from. Mercedes naturally has an image that focuses on high quality and pure luxury. However, this applies less to Mercedes' commercial vehicle department than to passenger cars. The Mercedes Sprinter is therefore initially a lot more expensive with a quality that is comparable to its French or Italian counterparts.

For this reason, the Sprinter is not simply the right choice for camper builders. On the other hand, there are also adepts who only have faith in such a prominent star on the grille and want nothing more than that. Yet that was not the reason for Eura Mobil to build the Profila on a Sprinter. When the new model was introduced, the supply problems of Fiat Ducatos and associated parts were discussed extensively. This made the switch to Mercedes more or less necessary.

Extra (Standing)Height

The new Eura Mobil Profila will first be available in the two bestsellers from the range: the 696EB and the 676EB. The structure has remained the same as the existing Eura Mobil Profilas 660EB and 695EB based on the Fiatch chassis. But due to the long nose of the Sprinter, the length in a parking space increases by 13 cm. Other differences are the double floor, which is 7 cm deeper, and the headroom in the living area, which is slightly higher at 1,98 cm. The beds in 676 EB, where EB stands for single beds in German, are 1,95 meters long. For an underpass of a bridge, the height of the new models based on Mercedes Sprinter has increased by 10 centimeters to 2,92 m. A satellite dish is not yet included.

Luxury Equipment

The base price of this Eura Mobil is a lot higher due to the more expensive Mercedes. For the basic model with a manual 140 hp engine, you should expect a price difference of almost € 9000 in the Netherlands. This means that the camper in the Netherlands may or may not remain below €100.000. But then you have to leave the options list for what it is. To make up for some of the price difference, the Eura Mobil Profila on the Sprinter comes with a few extras. However, this does not go much further than preparing for a 32-inch television and a light in the upper cabinets. If you choose the Mondial or Mondial plus package, you will pay between six and ten thousand euros, but for a complete camper of your choice in impeccable build quality.
