Camper version of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz coming soon
Volkswagen has announced a camper variant based on the electric ID. Buzz. In line with VW's other camper models, this will be called the ID. California. Patience is still a virtue, as the E-camper will not be on the market until 2025. Next year, however, the ID. Buzz will already be in showrooms.
Volkswagen recently gave the green light for the development of the ID. California. The demand for new campers has exploded in the last two years, which of course helps with that decision. The Volkswagen ID. Buzz will be launched in two lengths. The ID. California will be based on the long-wheelbase version. Because the drivetrain of the electric ID. Buzz is nice and compact, the ID. California will be much more spacious inside than the current generation of VW campers with a combustion engine.

Range of 550 kilometers
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz will soon be available in various versions. The size of the battery pack plays a major role in this. The largest has a battery capacity of 111 kWh. This should make a WLTP range of 550 kilometers possible. The actual drive is transmitted by one electric motor on the rear wheels with a power of 204 hp, similar to what is used in the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID. 4. There will also be a version with two electric motors. The VW designation Syncro might even be applied to that.

Full of good Volkswagen ideas
The ID. Buzz is full of the best ideas from Volkswagen. You can even teach the ID. Buzz what your favorite music is. Or take the intelligent LED 'eyes' that communicate with other road users. The headlights turn with the bend, indicating your direction. And as soon as the ID. Buzz notices pedestrians or cyclists at the side of the road, the lighting looks in their direction to attract attention with light signals. The augmented-reality-head-up display is also groundbreaking. This projects your navigation instructions directly in front of you on the road. Simply follow the arrows and you will reach your destination without having to take your eyes off the road.

There are no longer any physical buttons in the cockpit. Touching a touchpad gives access to the functions of the ID. Buzz. The new VW bus should be a joy to drive, because everything can be operated intuitively by a driver with a broad grin on their face.
