Chausson Titanium 640: The semi-integrated with XXL drop-down bed

If you are looking for a lot of space, the Chausson Titanium 640 is a unique sight. The 2019 model offers an incredibly spacious interior at a length of only 6.99 m. Living room, kitchen, bathroom, loading space for bicycles or a scooter, a walk-in closet and a bed width of 1.60 m make this generation of semi-integrated motorhome the next level in comfort. Chausson is a renowned French A-brand with a rich history. Starting 100 years ago as a coachbuilder of passenger cars, Chausson has grown in the last 30 years into one of the most important producers of motorhomes with a strong image of comfort and quality. Alcoves and semi-integrated models are designed and produced in Tournon sur Rhône, in the heart of the vineyards of the Rhône Valley. Approximately 5,000 motorhomes leave this Chausson factory annually, making it the largest production facility for motorhomes in Europe.

Ford base

The new Chausson Titanium 640 is based on a Ford Transit. Of course, equipped with the latest technology to minimize fuel consumption and emissions. The 2.0L Tdci engine delivers 170HP, making even the steepest mountain road easy to tackle. A motorhome wide-track chassis is used for optimal road holding. Air conditioning and cruise control complete the comfort on the road.

Standard automatic

A standard automatic gearbox makes the Titanium series an exclusive product. Even if you have never driven with an automatic gearbox, within a few minutes you will never want anything else. The 6-speed gearbox always chooses the right gear when starting, in the city or on the highway. This gearbox with learning ability makes the motorhome behave just like a passenger car, with plenty of driving comfort on all types of roads.

Exterior Chausson Titanium 640

The new Titanium Chausson has hail-resistant polyester plating, so a bad weather forecast cannot cause damage. The grey painted side walls and dark tinted windows make it a chic appearance. The motorhome is locked with a central remote control that also locks access to the superstructure. In addition to the service hatches, there are two access doors to the garage where bicycles, a scooter, table and chairs can be stored rattle-free. Above the cabin, an opening skylight provides extra light and ventilation.

The layout

The interior of the Chausson Titanium 640 is an attractive combination of comfort and efficiency. Two longitudinal benches with a table in between form the smart lounge. A good name, because with the two pilot seats turned around, a U-shaped seating area is created without the slightly cramped feeling that characterizes many other campers. The benches have a swivel section that creates two belted seats for passengers on the go. When it's time to sleep, the Chausson has a spacious double drop-down bed with two extra sleeping places on the dinette benches below.

The mid-kitchen with a 3-burner gas stove and sink has a foldable worktop, but even without it, there is enough space for a cutting board. The 167L refrigerator with freezer compartment completes the culinary section.
Sanitary facilities are located at the rear of the superstructure, spanning the full width. This creates a toilet with a separate shower in dimensions you would expect in a much larger camper.
