Frankia 1960: all-inclusive anniversary model

Frankia is a small manufacturer of luxury campers. The company is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a special anniversary model, the Frankia 1960: a luxury integral camper in a limited edition of 60 units.

Frankia started as an independent factory in 1960 - hence the name of the anniversary model, which is prominently displayed on the side of the camper and can also be found as an embroidered logo in the furniture upholstery. The 1960 is an impressive appearance with a length of almost 8 meters and a maximum permissible weight of 5.500 kilos.

Exterior

On the outside, the 1960 stands out because of the striping that partly consists of brushed aluminum. The tandem axle is equipped with double wheels at the rear. The car has alloy wheels, a large garage with doors on both sides plus a large tailgate – a Frankia trademark. Various service hatches provide access to luggage compartments built into the double floor.

The Frankia was developed for people who are on the road for a long time and prefer to travel independently. This is evident from the drinking water supply of 300 liters, the three solar panels and the double lithium batteries. This means you hardly need the power pole anymore.

Interior

Inside, the camper has a new wood color for Frankia combined with white furniture parts. Together with the large roof hatches - which allow a lot of daylight to enter - this creates a spacious interior. This is further enhanced by the straight kitchen and the so-called face-to-face layout, with two benches placed directly opposite each other. You can move the table, creating plenty of walking space.

A fold-down bed is available at the front, so you can also travel with four people, because in the back there is a spacious bedroom with several beds that you can easily connect together. There are wardrobes located under both footboards of the single beds, the cupboard of which is equipped with pull-out wire baskets.

The straight kitchen has a three-burner gas stove in the worktop and a ceramic sink. Opposite the kitchen is the Dometic fridge-freezer combination, the doors of which can be opened on both sides. Above that is a gas oven. Between the bedroom and kitchen we find the bathroom, with the shower on the left and the newly developed toilet room with ceramic toilet on the right. The large connecting door to the living area provides a lot of privacy in the bathroom.

Installations

The 1960 is equipped with all possible options, such as solar panels, an extremely large drinking water tank, a Thule cassette awning and, for example, a tilting 32-inch TV with satellite receiver. The camper has Alde liquid heating, all pipes and installations are neatly concealed in the double floor and there is an Alpine music system. A Büttner inverter is connected to the double lithium batteries, so that 230 Volts are always available.

Conclusion

With the 1960, Frankia has built a luxury camper for demanding travelers who want to travel independently for a long time. The price tag is hefty, but it isn't: if you were to order all components separately, the total price of this camper would be over €60 - hence the limited edition of XNUMX pieces.
