Hippie Caviar Hotel: Renault's Vision for the Future

At the recently held Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, the French company Renault presented its vision for the future of luxury custom camping. Hippie Caviar Hotel is a high-tech camper van full of futuristic solutions, based on the electric version of the Renault Trafic van.

Hippie Caviar Hotel

5-star hotel experience

In Renault's vision for the future, the Hippie Caviar Hotel is a camping experience that combines a 5-star hotel experience with pure adventure. For this, the camper van is equipped with a fully furnished roof terrace and a generous bed for both indoor and outdoor use. A drone for groceries and other deliveries will be included in the standard delivery. But the future-proof features don't stop there. Renault supplies the camper van with a separate 'logistics container'. This unit houses, among other things, a shower and toilet, as well as a charging point to refuel the Trafic. You can have the container delivered to the place where you wish to spend the night.

Daily usable

In addition to this luxury, which still requires further logistical development, the Hippie Caviar Hotel camper van offers all the freedom and flexibility of a compact, daily usable camper. With the e-Trafic, you go and stay wherever the built-in navigation leads you. And thanks to the compact size of the Renault, you don't need an extra spacious parking spot. Furthermore, a bridge would have to be very low for you not to fit under it.

The Estafette Camper

With the Hippie Caviar Hotel concept, Renault harks back to the glory days of the Estafette. The French answer to the Volkswagen T1 camper. The Estafette camper was innovative when it was released in collaboration with Sabem. It quickly became very popular with surfers and families with a love for nature and adventure. This camper from the 60s was equipped with benches that could also be used as a bed, a kitchenette, a refrigerator, and a removable table. With its flat floor, independent suspension, small turning circle, modern cabin, and clever sliding door, the Estafette was as innovative then as the Hippie Caviar Hotel is now with a completely new take on the traditional commercial vehicle. The trendy camper of yesteryear is now back in the spotlight because the iconic style from earlier times still appeals to many campers today.
