Pössl Summit Shine 540: Compact van camper full of surprises
The Pössl Summit Shine 540 is the latest addition to the product range of this German camper builder. Camper vans with compact exterior dimensions are hot, also in Germany. Pössl makes the most of this popularity with a short Summit camper van that features a few pleasant surprises.
Fiat or Citroen
As is customary with all Pössl models, you can order the new Summit Shine 540 on both Citroën Jumper and Fiat Ducato basis. The latter is slightly more expensive. The layout of the newcomer is not everyday. Pössl has hidden a few striking things in it. For example, the space between the kitchen and the seating area is larger than in any other camper van. The reason for this is the absence of a dinette bench behind the table. In its place, the Summit Shine 540 has one loose chair as standard, providing three belted seats in that configuration.

Three-seater bench
If you do need that fourth belted seat, you can add a second chair in no time. If you prefer to have a two-seater permanently, you can check that on the option list. You can also add an extra chair next to such a bench. This creates a real three-seater bench. Of course, this comes at the expense of the passage to the kitchen, which will then be somewhat cramped. For a large family or group of friends, that extra seat can of course be a godsend.

Easy Move Table
The table is also a bit different from the usual. Nicely flexible with the sonorous name Easy-Move Table. Because when you're not using the table, you fold it in half for a hanging spot on the wall. That also saves on available living space. And another nice thing: the shelf above the two cabin seats can be folded up for more headroom. It can also be removed completely. When folded down, you have a generous storage space, just as it suits you.

Mood lighting
Further enhancing the atmosphere is the lighting concept in the Summit Shine 540. LED light strips are integrated into the doors of the overhead cabinets throughout the interior, from front to back. This smallest Summit also features a Schwenkbad. That's German for a swivel wall that reveals either the toilet or the shower in the bathroom. The double bed is placed transversely at the rear. The bed size of 196 by 1.20/1.41 meters offers coziness for two. Under the bed there is space for the water tank, the gas bottle cabinet, and the wardrobe. If you choose the Citroën Jumper, you'll have 120 hp under the hood. Those who opt for the slightly more expensive Fiat Ducato can also choose an automatic gearbox. The latest driving assistance systems of the new Ducato are then also at your disposal.
