Tour Mobil 6.4: overcomplete Slovenia
We tested the Tourne Mobil 6.4 Heavy 165HP for you. Tourne bus campers are characterized by an attractive interior full of cleverness, an appearance that can be seen and an overcomplete standard delivery.
Tourne Mobil is a relatively new Slovenian producer of bus campers that offer more than the usual. That is not in a shiny finishing edge of the cupboard doors or in an extra wild sticker on the outside. The Tourne Mobil 6.4 Heavy 165HP Edition is a motorhome with single beds and, like the previously tested 6.0 Tourne, has a transverse bed. The motorhome is designed for comfortable camping even in Scandinavian regions.

Design
In addition, the camper van was designed by a designer who earned his stripes in the sailing world. This is clearly visible on both the exterior and interior of the Tourne Camper. With windows that are flush with the bodywork, black accents around the wheel arches and hatches next to a sleek wrap on both sides, the newcomer does not scream that it is a camper van. Instead, you are presented with an attractive appearance where a case of “love at first sight” is lurking. When you then take a look at the interior, the chance of that happening becomes even greater.

Light and airy.
The interior is made of 11mm thin sheet material with poplar veneer. The table and worktop of the kitchen also have this small thickness, but are finished with an extra hard film in the same colour and grain. The core material is HPL, a heavily pressed plastic that, despite its small thickness, is dimensionally stable and feels indestructible.

The dinette is equipped with two well-profiled seats where passengers can last longer during the journey than is the case with the usual penalty bench. The back absorbs the forces in a bend with lumbar supports and a filler under the seat completes the ergonomic. When you go out with 3 or 4 people, the dinette can be converted into a bed of 180 by 112 centimeters.

The single beds in the back allow sleeping in the longitudinal direction. The fixed middle part is striking. It jumps in a bit, with a step you put yourself to rest. For a child, the middle part is a good place to sleep. You can also create extra storage space here during the trip by folding up the bed base.
Kitchen and sanitary facilities
For culinary needs, the Tourne 600 features two gas burners and a sink in the kitchen block. On the side, you can fold out an extra piece of worktop when you need to cut something. Two metal supports make it a sturdy worktop. Below that, you can pull out a bench, providing two additional seats. Together with the swivel pilot seats, you have a maximum of 6 seats around the table, which you can enlarge with a filler piece if it gets crowded. The lower cabinets of the kitchen consist of drawers, the top ones of which have an extra drawer inside. More convenient than regular cabinets, when you pull out a drawer, you immediately see everything that's in it and what you wanted to grab.

For personal care, the Tourne offers a spacious wet room with a fixed washbasin, shower, and toilet that would not look out of place in a semi-integrated model a meter longer. The space is closed off with a roller door. Not a plastic one, but made of high-gloss aluminum profiles, which are not only more beautiful and sturdier but also easier to clean. The combi-cassettes for the windows are of the same ilk. No plastic housing, but metal, making this more luxurious version not the first thing to break.

Winter-hardy
Maneuverable, compact, and usable all year round are the best features of a camper van. With the extra insulation of 32 millimeters of Armaflex in the roof and walls and 30 millimeters of Styrofoam in the floor, that usability is well covered. This not only keeps the cold out but also the heat. The standard Webasto Airtop 4 kW diesel heater is hidden in the back under the floor. It blows warm air through five openings. Hot water is supplied via the boiler. Electric underfloor heating is also standard. The tanks are insulated and heated, allowing the camper van to pass the DIN 1646 winter hardiness test with flying colors.
On the road
Driving the Tourne 600 is a joy, but that's true for many camper vans based on a similar platform. What is striking, however, is the difference between the more commonly used Fiat Ducato and the 2.2L diesel from PSA or Stellantis. The latter has an AdBlue system and seems to run a bit smoother, quieter, and actually a bit nicer. But that could also be due to the generous 163 hp that this version of the Tourne 600 boasts. Cruise control, fog lights, air conditioning, Kenwood radio with navigation on the starter or leisure battery, tow bar, horizontal pleated blinds for the windows – it's all standard. With a heavy chassis, the van has a payload of 643kg, meaning the Tourne 600 doesn't always have to carry its maximum weight. You can also tow a 3-ton trailer with this chassis.
